DOWNGRADE OFFICIAL 3.0 or 3.0.1 FIRMWARE BACK TO 2.2.1 for Iphone and Ipod touch

IMPORTANT: Due to the ‘Mobile Substrate’ update in Cydia as of 18th July 2009, all those non-legit sim users like T-mobile will have no service on there 3g Iphones after they downgrade from 3.0 to 2.2.1. Meaning, they cannot make/receive calls. But only at one condition if non-legit sim users have bootloader 5.8 in there Iphones then they can download “3g Fuzzyband Downgrade” from Cydia to Downgrade there baseband and then install Yellowsnow to unlock.     Honestly I haven’t tried it downgrading from 3.1.2 to 2.2.1. I am assuming it will not work. But try it. Let me know. Also read the description on right side of the video. You will find everything there. And since you are at 3.2.1 with 5.11.07 baseband so after downgrading u will only be able to use AT&T sim not Tmobile. Details are written in decription. Also please know that it’s not that useful to downgrade now because All applications currently are based to work with 3.x FW. Not with 2.2.1

    Allright friend if you have an iPod 2g then I have written instructions for it in the descripion. Please read all the way towards end. You will be using Redsnow. Just read and follow it correctly. Feel free to ask.

    … i also tried to do it with redsnow 7.1.. there i got to the whitescreen but when i tried to restore fw 2.2.1 with shift+click it started but there was no apple logo and status bar.. after a few minutes the only thing which happened was that itunes showed an error(i dont remember which one but it wasnt 13xx but something like 160x ). then the whitescreen stayed and i had to restore the 3.0 fw..
    please HELP!
    additional note: i used firefox to download winpwn but it found the 2.0.2 fw!

    hi dude. at first ive to say its great how much time u invest to help other people with their problems!!
    i think ive read all the comments but i didnt find an answer to my question:
    i dont get to the whitescreen because of the “im sorry but something seems to have gone wrong” problem. i SWEAR i followed all the instructions step by step.. i downloaded fw 2.0.2, i uses winpwn 2.5beta, i switched the usb ports and i tried it for 5 times.
    ive a itouch 2g fw 3.0

    well you helped me a little bit so thank you for that. I had updated my firmware to 3.1.2 but before I had an jailbroken 2.2.1 but I still had the custom firmware so I just put it in DFU mode using quickfreedom (a good program) 1.2.0 it prejailbroke it then I just held shift n selected the custom firmware and it worked.

    Put iPhone in DFU mode meaning HOld home and power button together for 10 seconds then just release power button but keep holding home button for another 10 seconds . Now you will see your itunes will detect your iphone in recovery mode and your iphone screen should be totally black . Press ok and press Restore . After restoring Jailbreak and Unlock with new ‘Blackrain’ jailbreak method. Video is available on my channel. Blackrain jailbreaks and Unlocks on 3.1 & 3.1.2.

    I get unknown error 28, will this method work for me to get out of the recovery screen. Cuz cant restore my iphone whatsoever. at a normal way.

    Please make sure to check ATT as your carrier when you run winpwn, even though you have some other network.

    Please note that Redsnow only supports 3.0 firmware file. That’s why it is saying that message. I don’t have 3.0 file for iPod touch in description. Please take it from my other video on my channel.

    But dude when i open redsn0w and browsing it with the firmware it dosent work and i used the firmware from ur description. It just says Unable to recognize IPSW!!!

    2.0.2 firmware for Ipod Touch 2nd gen does not exist. It was never developed. If you have an Ipod 2nd gen so please follow the instructions at the end of the written description. You dont have to follow this video anymore. Just follow that what is written at the end of the descrption and you will be all set.

    Thanks, but QuickPwn dosent accept firmware 2.2.1 on ipod touch 2 gen so can u put in a firmware 2.0.2 for ipod touch 2 gen in ur description?

    If you want to downgrade an iPod touch 2g then no need to follow this video. You can follow the instructions written in the description at the end.
    Now about downloading firmware. So you have to use Interet Explorer to download my firmware files and you will get it in Ipsw format. Not in winrar.
